Mulch is important for properly maintained planting beds not only to create an aesthetically pleasing environment but also to protect the area from Mother Nature. Mulch preserves the well being of shrubbery and plantings by discouraging weed growth, retaining water, and protecting root systems from erosion. Mulch may be installed at any time, yet we recommend this service in the Spring, and any touchups needed throughout the season.

Mulch application consists of two steps: preparation and installation. Preparation includes edging of all planting beds, weeding as necessary, and an option to apply an herbicide treatment. Base weeding is included in the price of the mulch, however in cases of excessive weed growth an additional charge may be applied. The proposal will specify if an additional weeding charge or labor fee is necessary. In application, we spread a consistent layer of desired color mulch to the surface, following industry standard of 1” of new mulch every season.

Triple Shred Hardwood Mulch - is a multi purpose hardwood mulch. An economical product for areas that require a volume of mulch and a quality appearance. The mulch consists of various size fine-grounded material that provides good ground cover and holds moisture. See picture at left below.

Double Shred Hardwood Mulch - is a multi-purpose hardwood mulch for general mulching. The mulch consists of various larger size material than our triple shred mulch. See picture at right above.

Colored Hardwood Mulch - is a quality colored mulch for adding accent to your landscape designs. The colored mulch is available in black, red, and brown. A great change of pace for customers who prefer something different.
